It’s coming out in a few weeks! June 21st
I’m crazy about this record and I’m so honored to be a part of it. I played bass on 8 of the 11 songs along and Jason McGerr from Death Cab for Cutie on drums. Jason laid down some brilliant pop drumming. Matt is going to really blow up when this comes out.

I’m really excited about this project. It’s been years since I’ve played in a true band. We all write together and have an equal say in what goes down. Kind of a novel concept for me since I’ve been a sideman for so many years. Jonathan Singleton and Brad Tursi swap off singing and they are both incredible song writers and guitarists. Steve Sinatra is a total beast on drums. We played together all of last year with LIttle Big Town. I really honored to be part this funky mess. We’ve been working on an EP and plan on eventually booking some shows.

It is finally out. It’s a week and a half old and it’s selling well.
It was in the top ten of iTunes all of last week and got as high as five before spending a few days at number six and most importantly it debut at #60 on the Billboard top 200 chart.

I’m home for a few days with some shows with Suzanna Choffel and some recording with Tenlons Fort before I head to L.A. to finish up Matt Nathanson’s record. I’m super psyched to get started this batch of songs since Jason McGerr from Death Cab for Cutie will be the drummer on the session. His beats are always so creative and I know he will bring a lot to Matt’s songs.

So much has been happening lately. I’ve been recording the new Tenlons Fort record with Jack Gibson. I’ve also been busy playing local shows with Suzanna Choffel, Erin Condo, Sarah Glynn, Craig Marshall, Jade Day and Dave Madden but I’m about to hit the road again. January 12th through the 23rd I’ll be playing bass with a fantastic singer/songwriter named Brett Dennen. He is a mix of Dylan, Paul Simon and Jack Johnson. He opened for the last leg of Matt Nathanson’s tour last year. I finish out this month in NY with Matt and we are playing a show at the world famous Madison Square Garden opening up for O.A.R. and Gomez.
We finish Matt’s record in L.A. in February and then I jump back on Brett’s tour in Lexington, KY on the 19th and I’m with him until March 18th in Dallas. We’ll be playing some shows during SXSW and I’ll get to be on tour and sleep in my own bed at the same time. That’s the way it should always be.

I hit the ground running once when I finished the tour with Matt Nathanson. (Obviously not updating my website.) I played on KUT with Brett Dennen my first day home. He opened up for us the last week of the tour. I am crazy about his music and he was touring without a bass player. So there you go.
A few days later…..back on KUT with my friend Suzanna Choffel. We were promoting her CD release party at the Cactus Cafe that night. More come concerning Suzanna and that night.
